DESCRIPTION OF STUDIES

The Departments of Economics and the Department of Accounting and Finance of the University of Thessaly announce the commencement of the application process for the admission of postgraduate students for the academic year 2020-2021 in the Postgraduate Program of Studies (P.P.S.) entitled:

“Accounting and Auditing”

In order to obtain the Postgraduate Specialization Diploma, it is required to collect 90 ECTS credits which are distributed in three semesters, ie two semesters of courses and a 3rd semester for the elaboration of the postgraduate thesis.
From the academic year 2020-21, it is possible for students to participate remotely in a part of the lectures that will be implemented through a distance education platform at a rate of up to 35%.

OBJECTIVES

 The objectives of the program are:
1.     To promote the development of applications and research in Accounting Science in practice by providing knowledge in the subjects “Accounting and Auditing” at a theoretical and practical level to address the increased professional requirements in the private and public sector.
2.     To deepen on the basic principles and methods of Auditing in the modern business environment as well as the concepts of business risk management and the internal control of a business.
3.     To prepare for postgraduate doctoral studies.

PARTICIPATION

Graduates of the University Faculties of other Departments of Universities of the domestic Universities and similar recognized Institutions of foreign countries related to the subjects of study of the PPS are accepted in the Ιnterdepartmental Postgraduate Program.
Graduates are accepted from the Departments of Accounting and Finance, Banking, Economics, Social and Political Sciences, Administrative, Polytechnic and Positive Sciences of HEIs as well as Higher Military Schools, Hellenic N.A.R.I.C. / Δ.Ο.Α.Τ.Α.Π (former DI.K.A.T.S.A.). Foreign candidates are required to have sufficient knowledge of the Greek language (in accordance with the provisions of Law 2083/92).
Prerequisite for selection is the relevance of the first cycle of studies and the adequate knowledge of at least one language in addition to the language of the Ιnterdepartmental Postgraduate Program.
 

ACCA Certification

The Department of Economics, in collaboration with the Accounting and Finance of the University of Thessaly, and the Postgraduate Program in Accounting and Auditing offer graduates the opportunity to obtain the Certified Certified Accountants (ACCA) Certification. This Certificate highlights the quality and completeness of the Postgraduate Program in Accounting and Auditing and at the same time offers graduates a significant competitive advantage, which reflects knowledge and training at the highest level with recognition from the Occupational Auditor and Auditor’s profession and the world. .
