Dear Friends,
Welcome to the website of the “Accounting and Auditing” Postgraduate Program, which is jointly organized by the Department of Economic Sciences and the Department of Accounting and Finance of the University of Thessaly.
The aim of the Program is to promote the development of Accounting Science applications and research in practice, by providing theoretical and practical knowledge on “Accounting and Auditing” subjects, in order to meet the growing professional demands in both the private and public sector. The Program also aims to deepen the understanding of basic principles and methods of Auditing in the modern business environment, as well as the concepts of risk management and internal control of a business. Finally, the Program prepares students for doctoral studies.
Our goal is for graduates to establish themselves as accountants, tax advisors, certified auditors, internal auditors, financial analysts, financial institution executives, and public financial and tax administrators. Along with practical specialization, the Program aims to understand and apply appropriate research methods and tools in the field of accounting and auditing.
Our main concern is the quality of the Study Program, so that the knowledge provided will lead our graduates to progress and success in the job market. To this end, the Study Program is taught by reputable professors from various universities in Greece, as well as experienced certified public accountants who have been in the auditing profession and teaching International Financial Reporting Standards for many years. At the same time, the Study Program has been recognized by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and provides the maximum of nine exemptions from the ACCA certification. The recognition of the Study Program by the ACCA significantly strengthens the resumes of graduates and makes them highly competitive in the job market.
